Designer bargains at Preloved Designer Sale
Think Selfridges on a shoestring at this year’s Preloved Designer Sale, with thousands of designer bargains up for grabs. Plus have a spring clean and make some cash from your own closet
This one-off designer sale comes to Brighton twice a year and is a must for anyone who loves a bargain shopping spree. Rails and rails of beautiful designer clothes from the very trendy Isabel Marant and Acne to classic Chanel, must have McQueen and the wonderful Westwood – you name the designer, they’ve got it. We’ve already spotted a Louis Vuitton suitcase, Christian Louboutin shoes and a Celine bag at the forthcoming spring sale.
Plus lots of bargain Whistles, All Saints, Cos, Comptior des Cotonniers and this year there is a whole section dedicated to brand new with tags from By Malene Birger and Paul and Joe to Marc Jacobs and the very desirable Alex Monroe jewellery.
Katie Carne, organiser of the Preloved Designer Sale says: “We love coming back to Brighton as we always get such beautiful, hardly worn pieces. From local celebrities who gives us stack loads, to industry insiders who work for the big fashion houses and of course, everyday people who just want to spring clean their closet and make some extra cash.”
A great new idea, it’s a quick and hassle-free way of making some money from the clothes you don’t wear. If you’re interested in selling, it couldn’t be more simple. Have a clear out of your wardrobe, whether it’s something you’ve grown out of, an impulse buy that still has its tags on, or an unwanted present. Then just drop the pieces into the Thistle Hotel this week – see collection dates, right. They take everything from high-end high street to designer including bags, shoes and accessories, and are currently taking spring/summerwear. The pieces then go into the weekend sale and you collect your cash the following week. Katie says: “Clients love it because it’s hassle-free and a quick turnaround. There’s also an option for us to hold onto pieces and take them to other cities in the UK for other sales, so if it didn’t sell in Brighton it might get snapped up in Leeds.”
The Preloved Designer Sale is held at The Thistle Hotel, Brighton. It kicks of with a shopping evening Friday 11 April, 6pm–9pm, then all day Saturday 12 April, 10am–6pm, and Sunday 13 April, 11am–4.30pm. (There are further reductions on the Sunday). To sell clothes drop them into a collection day at the Thistle hotel from Monday 7 April–Thursday 10 April, 10am–5pm. All information on www.preloveddesignersale.co.uk
