Stage: Festival Frenzy
With both the Brighton Festival and Brighton Festival Fringe about to start, now is the time to start making sure you don’t miss out.
After the initial ticket feeding frenzy that follows the launch of both programmes, and the inevitable sell-out of some of the most popular events, do not make the mistake of thinking that last-minute is the way to go. Far from it, especially as the word on the street starts to kick in. Once the buzz hits the city, tickets for the best events sell fast and, with many events being one-nighters and some running for only a few performances, sitting on your hands (and wallets) is the route to disappointment.
This year sees a great programme of international theatre and dance, far too much to list here, although we will have an 11-page Brighton Festival supplement in the next issue of Latest 7. My hot tip is Joseph Heller’s Catch 22 which is at the Theatre Royal Brighton Tue 13- Sat 17 May, 7.30pm with matinees Thu 15 and Sat 17 May, 2.30pm.
Copies of both festival programmes can be found across the city or you can view them online.
