Fire crews from Brighton tackle quayside blaze in Newhaven

Firefighters from Brighton are among the crews tackling a quayside blaze at Newhaven Harbour.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has sent back up from Preston Circus and Roedean as colleagues from Newhaven and Seaford contend with a warehouse fire in North Quay Road.

Crews were called out to the Sussex Skips warehouse shortly before 5.30pm this afternoon (Monday 21 April).

The aerial ladder platform from Preston Circus was among the fire engines on the scene as fire crews dealt with fire in the single-storey building.

The fire service gave no information about the cause at this stage. No one was believed to have been inside the premises.
