Dreamboats & Petticoats comes to the Theatre Royal Brighton
Dream Lover
Inspired by the seven smash hit multi-million selling albums of the same name, the West End sell out show Dreamboats And Petticoats returns to Theatre Royal Brighton for one week only from Monday 28 April to Saturday 3 May.
This dazzling show features songs by some of the greatest artists of the rock ’n’ roll era – Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury and many more. Songs, which are all performed live on stage, include ‘Let’s Dance’, ‘To Know Him Is To Love Him’, ‘Shaking All Over’, ‘Bobby’s Girl’, ‘Little Town Flirt’, ‘Only Sixteen’, ‘Runaround Sue’, ‘Happy Birthday Sweet 16’, ‘Let It Be Me’, ‘Great Pretender’, ‘C’mon Everybody’, ‘Let’s Twist Again’ and many more hits from music’s golden era!
In 1961 emotions run high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national song writing competition, and, more importantly, the attentions of the gorgeous Sue. But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock ’n’ roll fame beckon.
Since its 2009 premiere, more than two million people across the UK have seen Dreamboats And Petticoats, which was inspired by Universal’s multi-million selling album series (now boasting seven double compilation albums and numerous special releases).
Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds Of A Feather, The New Statesman, Shine On Harvey Moon and of course, Dreamboats and Petticoat’s sequel, Save the Last Dance For Me and is produced by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield in association with Universal Music.
Dreamboats And Petticoats – the songs will live forever!
Dreamboats And Petticoats, Monday 28 April–Saturday 3 May.
