Hove man attacked with knife in Brighton street

A man was attacked with a knife by a stranger in a Brighton street after an argument, Sussex Police said today (Wednesday 23 April).

The victim, a 36-year-old man from Hove, had parked his car in Cannon Place to meet a friend in Churchill Square, Brighton, at about 10.40pm on Friday 11 April.

As he walked up Cannon Place a man and woman were walking towards him and he complimented the woman on her appearance.

An argument started and the man with the woman pulled out a knife, slashed the victim across his cheek and then chased him to the top of Queensbury Mews.

The victim received hospital treatment for his injury and was then discharged.

The man with the knife was described as being of mixed race or Arabic in appearance, between 20 and 40 years old, of skinny build, with big bushy eyebrows and long black hair in a pony tail.

He was wearing blue jeans, a black jumper and white trainers.

The woman he was with was described as white, in her twenties, about 5ft 10in tall, with long black hair and of slim build. She was wearing a short black skirt.
