Kemptown MP continues fight for Royal Sussex Hospital

Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven, Simon Kirby, spoke of his continuing efforts to ensure a positive decision from HM Treasury regarding funding for a new Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Simon said: “With the news that the hospital are planning to commence with preparatory works on site, it is now even more imperative than ever that we get a positive decision on funding from HM Treasury.

“I will continue to keep up the pressure to ensure that Brighton gets the hospital patients, staff and residents deserve.”

Mr Kirby has been campaigning for the Government to spend £420 million on a new “21st century” hospital for the city.

He added: “I have informed the Treasury of this latest development and that we are all ready to go here in Brighton if they make the correct decision.”
