Bitter Ruin

Set up with a distinct theatrical dynamic, Bitter Ruin consist of singer Georgia Train and guitarist/singer Ben Richards performing earnest, direct emotional songs. Backing tracks broadened the scope of their sound into more cinematic pop songs, and their steely gazes and passionate performance proved that they intend to be taken seriously. The background visuals were a ten second video of Train on a beach played on a constant loop which this reviewer found distracting, but others in the crowd could ignore due to the raw power of the performance. A curious band that could well gain in popularity due to their sentimental balladry, sincerity and charisma.
