Casting the Runes

Box Tale Soup (actors Antonia Christophers and Noel Byrne) took us on a dark journey into Gothic horror in the atmospheric setting of The Burrow (otherwise the Fishermen’s Vestry of St Paul’s Church). Framed by the spectacular stone canopy of its fireplace, they created a progressively more intense feeling of supernatural danger. With just a few scraps of additional costume, bits of cardboard and well-judged sound effects they held a capacity audience of 60 in silent thrall for an hour of chilling entertainment. This is storytelling at its crafty best. Catch it again on 25, 26 May & 1 June.
