Irvine Welsh
The Old Market was packed full with fans of Irvine Welsh, famous in particular for his book ‘Trainspotting’. As a speaker he was interesting and engaging as he talked about his life and influences, as well as some of his literary highlights. He relaxed as the interview progressed and became very comedic in a lot of his responses, too – especially about the technological hiccups that occurred.
It was a shame, however, that he didn’t speak a lot about his latest release, ‘The Sex Lives of Siamese Twins’, as was depicted in the programme. It would have been extremely interesting to hear more about it. Apart from that, it was a very entertaining evening.
