Fire damages business park premises in Brighton

A fire caused damaged to industrial units at the Hyde Business Park in Brighton.

Yesterday (Tuesday 6 May) investigators began trying to find the cause of the blaze which appears to have started at Harman Plant Hire.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service sent six fire engines to tackle the blaze in Auckland Drive, Bevenden, shortly before 7.30pm on Monday (5 May).

The fire service said: “Crews from Preston Circus, Roedean, Hove and Lewes responded.

“Initial reports outlined that people could be trapped inside the building. Fortunately on arrival, crews confirmed that all persons were accounted for.

“Fourteen breathing apparatus, three main jets and compressed air foam were used to tackle the blaze.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
