The Devil At Midnight

This play isn’t a bundle of laughs. Good, yes, deeply emotional undoubtedly, but have a stiff drink beforehand and possibly during too. Nicki and her brother Billy lived on Orkney. They were then unjustly taken from a loving, stable unit, and placed into fostering whilst their father was charged with satanic child abuse. He is acquitted, but their father is not the same man. Seeking retribution on those who perpetrated the act, the siblings find psychologist Liz and her ‘political animal’ husband Jack. How they are involved unravels along with the horrors of Nicki’s and Billy’s lives, coupled with an acceptance of social service protocol in the ’90s. Horrific, but compelling.
