Recent years has seen a revolution in food with even TV chefs taking notice of the virtues of organic farming and fair trade. However, as journalist Andrew Wasley discovers in his new book, there’s still many shocking practices in the food industry – from animal rights abuses to environmental disasters. However, Wasley is just as keen to assess the alternatives and champion those positive pioneers who are already going against the grain to produce food that doesn’t cost the earth.
