Work on Brighton’s Churchill Square set for summer completion
The refurbishment of Brighton’s Churchill Square Shopping Centre is on course to be complete by summer.
With its owners intent on giving the 1960s building a facelift, work on the Western Road facade of the complex began in December.
Six months on and developers have said its plans to install clear laminated frontages is nearly complete.
The units will then be handed over to retailers, which will include a new 22,000 sq ft Topshop and Topman flagship store.
The refurbishment will also see new double height glass shop fronts for existing stores BHS, Burtons and Dorothy Perkins.
Tina Dallorzo, Churchill Square’s centre director, said: “It is exciting to be just a few months away from the new look ChurchillSquare and to welcoming a flagship Topshop and Topman store to the centre.”
It comes as bosses announce fashion store Monsoon is soon to be moving into the centre, opening a large new store with sister retail brand Accessorize.
They will be joined by retro-American diner Ed’s Easy Diner, which has more than 25 chains across the country.
Other recent openings include stationery store Smiggle, ice cream retailers Fentons Ice Cream and denim store G-Star Raw.
