Portslade motorcyclist in hospital after Falmer crash

A motorcyclist from Portslade is in hospital after a crash on the A27 at Falmer.

The incident took place at about 12.45pm yesterday (Sunday May 18) on the eastbound carriageway of the busy road.

Sussex Police said a 125cc motorcycle had been travelling between slow-moving lines of traffic when it collided with three vehicles.

Officers said the motorcyclist, a 21-year-old Portslade man, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Sussex Police said the A27 was temporarily closed in both directions to allow the Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance to land at the scene.

The casualty was eventually taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton by land ambulance and detained for treatment.
