Kirsty Pollard on Kasper’s Puppet Theatre and Brightona Charity Riders

Kasper’s Puppet Theatre returns to Brighton Marina (16-30 May) as part of Brighton Fringe. Join our hero Kasper on an exciting journey through the enchanted forest in this live action-packed magical fairytale. There’s sure to be lots of audience participation in store. Presented in the charming little theatre tent in residence in Marina Square, there’s also free balloon models and photo opportunities with Kasper and friends for you and your family after every show.

The puppet Kasper has a long history, similar to Punch & Judy shows, which originates in Germany in 1858. In 1920 Max Jacob created the Hohnsteiner style in which Kasper is a friendly character involved in traditional Bavarian fairytales.

Performed by puppeteer Benjamin Hasker, Kasper’s Puppet Theatre is believed to be the only Kasper Show in Britain, using original hand carved Hohnsteiner puppets and translating popular stories presented for today’s young audience.
