Comic Book Babylon

From a childhood trawling round the newsagents of Windsor trying to find the next issue, trips to the amusingly acronymed UKCAC comic book convention to his dream job working for DC Comics – the publishers of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Watchmen – Tim Pilcher’s life story was fun even for someone not particularly interested in comics. Told in a funny, self deprecating style with plenty of illustrations, it was an amusing insight into the hedonistic and drug-fuelled lifestyle of an early 90s subculture. The ending was rather abrupt, though, and I would have liked to hear what happened next.
