Hitchcock’s back! An intrigued audience peers in from every dark recess of the Spiegeltent as the portly auteur brings a retooled best-of set of 10 heavy hits back to life. The action is deft and often masterfully suspended, the classic tales of violence, murder and crime rendered playful, yet somehow more twisted. Expect birds, ropes, poles, a plethora of icy blondes, costume changes, shower curtains and the odd small (and floppy) MacGuffin, the astonishing feats of athleticism set to a thumping soundtrack. We emerge thrilled, dazed and slightly fearful; a gang of seagulls stare malevolently at us across the Old Steine.
