Man faces trial for racist attack in Brighton night club
A man is to stand trial accused of a racist attack in a Brighton night club.
The trial of Simon Ellsmore on a charge of racially aggravated common assault was due to start today (Thursday 22 May).
Sussex Police said: “Police were called to the Coalition club in King’s Road, Brighton, at around 3am on Friday 24 January to a report that a man had assaulted another man inside the club.
“Simon Thomas Ellsmore, 43, of Avocet Crescent, Sandhurst, Berkshire, was committed to trial at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday 22 May charged with racially aggravated common assault, having previously appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on (Thursday) 24 April.”
