Layer Cake Tea Party
Who could resist a genteel tea party accompanying a violent movie? Watching this film 10 years after its release, we realise this was a landmark in British cinema; the stylish thriller which introduced Daniel Craig’s mesmerising blue eyes to the world and foreshadowed his casting as Bond. It ticks all the boxes of modern movie-making with comedic moments, plot twists, a pumping soundtrack, etc. But rarely does it show us the real human cost of drug addiction. However, it does depict the consequences of betraying the wrong people. Alas we were betrayed by Komedia; the shambolic tea service didn’t deliver. Not a china cup to be seen!
