Portslade robbers flee empty-handed
Three would-be robbers fled empty-handed after trying to hold up a windscreen repair shop in Portslade on Tuesday last week (20 May).
Shortly before midday three men went into Auto Windscreens in Camden Street, Portslade, and one asked for money and searched the premises.
A member of staff was attacked during the attempted robbery and received a couple of cuts to his face.
The men then ran away in the Shoreham direction.
DC Sarah Barrett said: “The man who asked for the money is described as white, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in, slim with light brown hair shaved at the sides with a gelled quiff wearing a black Superdry jacket.
“This happened in broad daylight and we are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the attempted robbery or the men running away.”
Anyone with information is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
