Brighton cyclist seriously injured in crash with pedestrian
A cyclist from Brighton has been seriously injured in a crash with a pedestrian on the seafront.
The accident happened just before 2.30pm on Saturday (31 May).
The 54-year old local woman was cycling along Madeira Drive when she collided with a 33-year-old woman pedestrian from Hertfordshire and suffered a serious head injury.
The cyclist was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Kemp Town. She was transferred to Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath where she is currently in a critical condition.
The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and did not need hospital treatment.
