Omid Djalili
Ohhh, he’s a rude boy. On the surface he’s no better than your top end ‘blue’ comedian. But there is more to him than just firing off knob gags. He’ll give you a guttural laugh and then follow that up with insightful comedy rooted in honesty. He wears both his Englishness and Iranian backgrounds with pride (which of course provides the basis for most of his material) but also provides a different insight into their idiosyncrasies, intolerances and national fears. The Q&A at the end gave him the opportunity for some ad-libbing and proved he is an all round comedian. A joy.
