Celebcity: MUC Live street art, Zoe Ball & Guy Lloyd

MUC Live street art in Munich, Zoe Ball skydives for charity, Guy Lloyd gets lofty, Shakespeare comes to Rudyard Kipling Gardens

MUC Live
JBPR decamped to Munich last week for the debut of MUC Live, the new urban contemporary art and street art festival taking place in the city – which incidentally is a mere one hour and forty minutes from Gatwick.

Headlining the festival was Hastings-born king of the giant letter, Ben Eine, whose work has not only graced the shutters of Guitar and Amp on North Street but also Barack Obama’s White House dining room wall. Also taking part was Eastender Zeus, whose work you can currently see at Circus Street as part of last week’s Urban Art Fest. Also, Japanese-born New Yorker Aiko adorned the walls of the ex-whisky distillery with her unique stencil work in every colour imaginable.

The entire disused building is now a monument to urban art with many of the artists painting giant walls and sites around the city. Some of the work will also be transferred to the summer Tollwood Festival which takes place in July in the city – so if you fancy a quick jaunt to the vibrant city of Munich, for more details go to www.tollwood.de

Giant man on a thin rope
Drive time Juice FM DJ and man about town, Guy Lloyd, is also not a person to shrink out of a challenge, as the tallest man in radio is about to face the fury and abseil down Brighton landmark The Grand Hotel. This is all in aid of the station’s dedicated charity The Juice Appeal – if you fancy taking a look at a giant man dangling from a thin rope get yourself down to the Grand on Thursday 17 July.

Romeo and Juliet
If you’re interested in some high culture in an al fresco environment, you could do a lot worse than head over to the cute village of Rottingdean for Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. The tale of the love struck pair will be played in the sensational surroundings of Rudyard Kipling Gardens right in the heart of the historic village. This takes place on 20–21 June and for tickets go to www.rottingdeanarts.ticketsource.co.uk

Zoe Ball’s charity skydive
Radio 2 DJ and Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two presenter, Zoe Ball, swapped her high heels and glittery top for a parachute last week. Zoe made a very brave act in the name of the charity as she did a sky dive alongside her brother. Zoe’s stepfather, Rick, unfortunately lost his battle with Motor Neurone disease last year and since then Zoe and her family have been totally committed to raising funds and much needed awareness of the awful condition.
You can donate via www.MNDassocation.org – your donation will make a massive difference.
