Saltdean woman banned after being caught drink driving twice in two days

A woman from Saltdean has been banned from the roads after being caught drink driving twice in two days.

Charlene Palmer, 33, of Saltdean Vale, Saltdean, was disqualified from driving for three years and fined £110 each for the two drink driving offences at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.

Palmer was also fined £110 for driving with no insurance, making £330 in total.

Sussex Police arrested Palmer on Monday (2 June) after stopping her in Sutton Park Road, Seaford, at 11.55am. She had 84 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath.

Just over 24 hours later, at 2.20pm on Tuesday (3 June) she was stopped in Golden Jubilee Way in Eastbourne and arrested for drink driving again. This time she had 71µg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

She pleaded guilty in court yesterday (Wednesday 4 June) when the bench also ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
