Man charged with hurling racist abuse at police officer in Brighton
A man has been charged with hurling racist abuse at a police officer in Brighton.
Bradley Jay Hughes, 31, has been bailed to appear in court next month accused of racially abusing the police officer just over three weeks ago.
Sussex Police said that officers were called to Gladstone Terrace at 8pm on Friday 16 May to a report of a man damaging the front door of a home.
Hughes, of Pelham Road, Seaford, was arrested and later charged with racially aggravated intentional harassment, alarm and distress, criminal damage and obstructing or resisting a police officer in the lawful execution of his duty.
He was released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 10 July.
