Rush-hour jam after man injured in Brighton crash

A man was injured in a crash in Brighton which closed a key road into and out of the area this morning (Monday 9 June).

He was in one of two cars involved in a head-on crash which happened in Warren Road, Woodingdean, shortly before 6am.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service helped to free a man from one of the cars which had ended up on its side.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service crew took him to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Kemp Town.

Sussex Police closed the road while the rescue and clear up took place.

The road reopened at about 9am with queues having built up in Falmer Road and Lewes Road, Brighton, during the rush hour.
