Has Brighton Got Talent?
If you love musical theatre, it’s highly likely that you’ll love West End Experience. The initiative gives young people the opportunity to train and perform with West End professionals in their home town, and it’s coming to Brighton.
As ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘Rock of Ages’ come to a close in London’s West End, the leads – Rachael Wooding (Scaramouche), Oliver Tompsett (Galileo) and Natalie Andreou (Sherrie) – are coming to work and sing with the young talent of Sussex at the West End Experience Summer School and Concert, in aid of The Martlets Hospice.
Oliver Tompsett said: “After working solidly in the West End, I am thrilled to be able to reach out and sing with the up and coming talent that West End Experience nurtures and showcases, all for a fantastic cause.” And one lucky student testified: “This was the best week of my life. I’ve made some amazing friends and have been taught by the most incredible performers. I wish every week was West End Experience week.”
Led by local actors and teachers, Craig and Rebekah Whiteley, West End Experience are offering scholarships to three young talented individuals who show promise in singing, dance and acting, aged 7-19 years. If you or someone you know has what it takes to work with leading professionals and perform alongside them to an audience of hundreds, then email rebekah@westendexperience.com straight away to book an audition on Saturday 28 June in Brighton.
