Fruitvale Station
Based on the true story of the killing of Oscar Grant by a police officer in the USA, Fruitvale Station portrays his final day leading up to the shooting. Grant is portrayed as a loving father and generous family member, and the performance from ‘The Wire’ alumni Michael B. Jordan is the most striking and memorable aspect of the movie. There is some obvious and jarring foreshadowing of his death (his daughter asking him to stay in saying “I have a bad feeling daddy” for example) but the subject matter and emotional ending are certainly powerful, thought-provoking and moving.
