Elkie Brooks

Arguably the female voice of the early ’80s, Elkie Brooks rasps out gut-wrenching tales of heartbreak that we’ve all gone through with dignity and elegance. Even at nearly 70, and after being in the business for 55 years, she still captivates the crowd who lavish her with cries of ‘You’ve still got it, Elkie, we love you!’. Couldn’t agree more. She has the voice and figure of a 25 year old. It was an honour to sing along to ‘Fool If You Think It’s Over’, ‘Don’t Cry Out Loud’, ‘Pearl’s A Singer’, ‘No More The Fool’ and ‘We’ve Got Tonight’.
