Hove school loses 152 iPads worth £37k in burglary

A burglar or burglars stole 152 iPads worth £37,000 from a school in Hove on Friday night (20 June) or Saturday morning (21 June)

Sussex Police said that the iPads were being stored in readiness for next term at Hove Park School in Hangleton Way, Hove.

The force said that the break-in happened some time between 9pm on Friday and noon on Saturday.

Officers would like to hear from “anyone who saw any vehicles or people acting suspiciously in the Hangleton area during the time”.

Detective Constable Richard Valder-Davis said: “A large number of iPads awaiting allocation to pupils have been stolen from the school.

“We would like to hear from anyone that may have heard about this burglary being planned or has any information about where the iPads are now.

“It is likely that the offenders knew the school layout and the area the equipment was being stored.”

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked phone Sussex Police on 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
