Austentatious
An improvised show based on the style of Jane Austen – how novel! (sorry). Excusing the pun, in the opinion of this humble reviewer this show has some major issues. A – the topic: in picking a single style it limits the amount of actual improvisation you can do. The characters appeared pre-ordained, and the plot (again) appeared slightly rehearsed in places with the odd topical reference shoe-horned in. This has a direct implication on B – the length. An hour long (not a problem), but at nearly £15 a ticket not really value for money. Chuckles more than belly laughs. Admirable but misses the mark for me, there are better improv groups out there.
