Competitions: Win Gagarin Biopic on DVD
The US has managed to make it seem as though they whipped the Soviets in the space race of the 1960s, but it was actually Russia that put the first man into space. That man was Yuri Gagarin; he orbited the earth eight years before the Apollo moon landing. Gagarin: First In Space, released on DVD this week, is a Russian-made epic biopic about the man, his mission and the historic moment in 1961 when the cosmonaut blasted into space. Released to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Gagarin’s birth, the film is exactly 108 minutes long – the same time Gagarin spent in space orbiting the earth.
We have five copies of the DVD up for grabs. For your chance to win, all you have to do is tell us:
Which country put the first man-made object on the moon?
