Police appeal after woman raped in Brighton pub toilets
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was raped in the toilets at a Brighton pub.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman who lives in the city, was in the Fishbowl in East Street on Friday night (June 27) with a friend, when she visited the toilets and was raped by a man she didn’t know.
Th rape is believed to have taken place between 1.30am and 3am on Saturday morning.
The suspect is described as being white but tanned, in his late 20s or early 30s, fairly short and slim build.
He was wearing a white T-shirt with the words Colombia on it, wearing a black denim shirt open over the top. He had on dark trousers and was carrying a black rusksack. He is also believed to be a Spanish speaker.
Detective Inspector Vicki Harris, of Sussex Police, said: “The victim is obviously very distressed by what happened and we are giving her support by specially trained officers.
“We would urge anyone with information about this incident or witnessed anything suspicious, to contact police on 101 or email101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Emery.”
