Thug uses bottle in attack outside Brighton seafront night club

A thug hit a man over the head with a bottle in an attack outside a night club on Brighton seafront.

Sussex Police issued an appeal for witnesses yesterday (Tuesday 1 July).

The force said that the victim was an 18-year-old man, from London, who was attacked in Marine Parade, Brighton, on Sunday (29 June) between 1.20am and 1.40am.

He was with friends when he was attacked near the Volks night club and suffered a number of cuts which needed stitches.

The club’s security staff detained the suspect.

A 17-year-old boy, from Crawley, was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and having cannabis with intent to supply and cocaine.

He was questioned and bailed until Wednesday 13 August.
