“A new West Pier is a possibility thanks to i360”

The West Pier Trust claims a revitalised pier is a possibility thanks to the construction of the i360.

The comment came as workers finished the removal of part of the Victorian attraction from its spot on Brighton seafront

With work on the i360 expected to be complete by summer 2016, Rachel Clark, of the West Pier Trust, claimed the construction of the observation tower would help build interest in the pier.

Speaking to Latest TV, she said the short term aims were to establish a heritage centre and develop its education programme.

But in the long term she hoped that the walkway into the sea could be restored.
