Brighton casino stakes hopes on £600k makeover
A Brighton casino is to be given a £600,000 refurbishment.
Genting Casino, in Preston Street, Brighton, aims to reopen with a new look on Thursday 14 August.
The casino is owned by the Malaysian company Genting, one of the world’s biggest casino operators.
It employs more than 30 full-time and part-time staff in Brighton.
The general manager Will Cotton said: “This sizeable investment will create a smart boutique-style casino that will appeal to high-value players.”
Genting said that the casino played a key role in the community, regularly supporting local events and charities including the Oddity, Sodality and Benevolence (OS&B) Society.
It said that the venue was a responsible professional gaming destination which worked closely with organisations such as GamCare, which caters for problem gamblers.
