Man pours boiling water over woman
Detectives have asked people in Brighton and Lewes to help them trace a man suspected of pouring boiling water over a woman he knew.
Sussex Police said that they were trying to find Luis Alfaro-Tames, 47, after the attack at a property in Ousedale Close, Lewes, in the early hours of Wednesday 2 July.
The 31-year-old victim suffered second degree scalding and surface injuries to her face, neck and head when a kettle full of boiling water was poured over her.
She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment and discharged later the same day.
Alfaro-Tames, a Peruvian national, was described as 5ft 8in tall, of slight build and with short dark hair. He has a scar under his left nostril.
Detective Sergeant John Steven said: “Alfaro-Tames frequents the Brighton and Lewes areas in particular but anyone who knows where he is asked to let us know.”
Anyone who can help find him is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
