Wave’s Top Festival Beauty Essentials

All the beauty essentials you need to get you festival ready!

We’re now well into the festival season, with Glastonbury and Isle of Wight weekends a distant memory. Tents, fields and mud can be a beauty-lover’s nightmare, but follow these top tips and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a beauty festival queen!

1. Dry Shampoo.
This is the holy-grail product for almost everyone at weekend-long music events. It can touch up greasy roots, add texture and volume to lack lustre hair and even hold your style in place whilst you dance the day and night away! Batiste do a variety of lovely scents in miniature, so you can easily carry it around in your purse!

2. Waterproof mascara.
Let’s face it, the British weather is never on our side at festivals. Add a few layers to your lashes to keep them smudge-free and luscious all day long. I’d recommend Maybelline The Falsies for all festival-goers.

3. Suncream.
On the other hand, getting sunburnt at festivals can be very dangerous. If you don’t apply generous amounts of high factor suncreams throughout the day, then you’re running the risk of getting badly sunburnt, which can cause heat stroke and dehydration.

4. Headbands.
They can cover a multitude of sins and keep you looking on trend 24/7. Flower crowns have been popular throughout the years, so try a Aztec print or sequin and jewelled versions. Pop your hair in plaits or fishtails and add a bit of sea salt spray for some texture to vamp up your look.

5. Hand Gel.
Pretty obvious and self-explanatory, but it has to be said: Festival’s aren’t the most sanitary of places! I love the Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Hand Gel which smells refreshing and gorgeous.

6. Bright Lippy.
A slick of pastel pink, cool coral or hot red can be the making of any look. Matte lips are right on trend this summer, with coordinating eye make-up as a bonus!

7. Mini Perfume.
Festivals are far from the nicest smelling venues (depending on your taste!), so pop your favourite perfume in a little travel size that can slip into your handbag with ease. Try out the Travalo Refillable Perfume.

8. SPF Foundation.
If you want to put two steps together in a fuss-free fashion, then a foundation with SPF will be your best friend! Try Benefit BB Cream with SPF 35 or if you want a bit more coverage then the Clinique CC Cream is right up your street.

9. Hairbrush.
Your hair is going to need a bit of TLC over the festival weekend, so treat it well with a good brush. A Tangle Teezer brush is the ideal for getting through those stubborn knots and the Babyliss Back Comb Brush is the perfect way for adding a little volume to your locks!

10. Water Spray.
Take a mini water spray around with you to rejuvenate your skin and make-up throughout the day. The Evian Facial Spray replenishes and refreshes your skin with one simple spritz.

Happy Festival-ing!
