Two men suffer facial injuries in attack close to the Palace Pier in Brighton
Two men were attacked close to the Palace Pier in Brighton on Saturday night (12 July).
One of the men, a 37-year-old from Essex, was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken jaw.
The other man, a 45-year-old man also from Essex, suffered a broken nose.
Sussex Police said: “The attack is reported to have happened at the top of the stairs next to the café on the west side of the pier.
“Both were treated for their injuries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and were dischsrged the following day.
“Two men suspected of the assaults are described as white and speaking with Irish accents.”
PC James Botting said: “At present this appears to have been an unprovoked attack.
“If you were near the pier late on Saturday night and saw what happened, please contact us.”
The attack was reported to have happened at about 11pm.
