Brighton pro-Palestinian campaigners protest about Israel’s shelling of Gaza
Dozens of pro-Palestinian campaigners took to the streets of Brighton this afternoon (Sunday 20 July) to protest about Israel’s shelling of Gaza.
After a vigil and rally at the Old Steine War Memorial they marched through the city centre, including Queen’s Road, Western Road and North Street.
The event was organised by the Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
Members of the local group also went to London yesterday (Saturday 19 July) for the march from Downing Street to the Israeli embassy.
Similar demonstrations were held in other cities around the world.
The Brighton and Hove group said on its website: “The brutal siege of Gaza continues. The slaughter and suffering continue.
“Many of us feel outraged by israel’s impunity and the lack of condemnation from the international community.”
