Andrew WK

Sunday is the day of rest, right? Wrong! If Andrew WK is in town it’s the day to party hard. He’s only doing a few dates across the UK, so unsurprisingly this show sold out in record time.

Andrew WK is one of the most versatile musicians you can come across. This time round he decided to do a solo tour, so that’s just him and his keyboard. The Haunt was hotter than hell, with no barriers, and one scared looking bouncer on the stage. The crowd started off in the audience pit, but by the third song almost everybody was on the stage, with bits of the back drop falling off and people climbing up anything available.

Andrew WK has a knack for combining his hard rock party anthems with chilled piano ditties – probably just as well he threw in some more ambient tunes, or The Haunt may not be standing in one piece today. Andrew WK never fails to get the party started, and this one was the best yet.
