Brighton sea “hottest for 15 years”
Sunny skies are above Brighton – and it’s not just humans who are feeling the heat.
Official records show that this week the sea off the city’s beach reached a eye-watering 21 degree c.
That’s six degrees warmer than the July average and the hottest since one Brighton swimming club began testing the temp more than 15 years ago.
With the mercury on the thermometer still rising to more than 30 degree c, thousands have headed to the warm seas in an attempt to cool off.
But did the news that the English Channel was more like a hot tub put them off?
Latest TV’s Tim Ridgway and Jody Doherty-Cove report.
