Calling all community champions, unsung heroes and wannabe show offs – ever thought about having your 15 minutes of fame on television? Well, now you have the chance!

Latest TV is handing over control of the airwaves to you, the people of Brighton and Hove. As the city’s first ever local television channel, we want to make sure that what we show represents everything that is so amazing about our city. And what better way to do that than by giving you, the public, the chance to appear on the channel.

From when we launch on freeview channel 8 on 28 August, we will aim to make television truly democratic. With a mantra of “You Make It, We Show It”, this means anything that you think is worthy of being filmed, we will show on our channel. It’s content made in Brighton by Brighton people for the residents of Brighton – what more could you want?!

From the downs to the sea, there are no end of opportunities for you to get inspired. And with most people now having cameras on their mobile phones or on their tablets, there is no excuse for not capturing those moments that matter to you.

So whether it’s a community fete or a school prize giving, a dramatic police chase or a hidden piece of public art – if it’s important to you, it’s important to us. Latest TV, the city’s first ever local television channel, will launch on 28 August 2014. Broadcasting on freeview channel 8 and Virgin 159, as well as on demand online, your clips could be seen by up to 400,000 people across the Greater Brighton area.
