Should the government listen to Brighton and Hove council’s plea to increase cycling spending?

It is one of the most environmentally friendly ways to get from A to B.

But is enough being done to make cycling easier in Brighton and Hove?

City leaders don’t think so which is why they have lobbied the government asking for money to be set aside to help people getting around on two wheels.

Currently it is estimated that about £2 for every person in the UK is spent on supporting cycling.

Green leaders in Brighton want to see that increased to £10 per head.

After lobbying Whitehall, MPs on the transport select committee have recommended this is looked at.

But with money short, is this the right thing to do?
