Ping! Championship takes over seafront

The annual festival of table tennis that has been re-dubbed Ping! is taking over the seafront.

Every week throughout August a Ping! tournament will be taking place at the bandstand near the West Pier.

There are sixteen cities across England taking part in the Ping! initiative, funded by Sport England and implemented by local councils.

Tim Holtam is the Ping! coordinator for Brighton and Hove and says they’re a step ahead. He said; “Bristol, apparently is quite good, but from all the pictures and all the stuff that’s on Ping! B&H Facebook, we are smashing it, we’re the best.”

The Ping! tournament takes place every Tuesday between 6.30-8.30 until 26th August.
