This week sees the release of Alarm Girl, the debut novel from Brighton-based playwright and lecturer Hannah Vincent. When 11-year-old Indigo and her brother leave England to stay with their father in South Africa, they find themselves living a life of luxury – but one haunted by the silence and mystery surrounding their mother’s recent death. Shortlisted for three literary awards, this coming-of-age story “crosses continents and generations in its exploration of a young girl’s experience of grief”. We’ve got five copies of the book to give away to anyone who can answer the following question:
