Brighton Women’s Centre celebrates 40th anniversary with 40 ‘selfies’
It’s a growing trend that the likes of celebrities, politicians and even the Queen have got involved with.
And now, the Brighton’s Women’s Centre is jumping on the selfie craze, that’s taking a picture of yourself with a hand held camera, with a project to celebrate it’s 40th birthday.
The charity has been offering advice and support to women in the city since 1974 in the days when gender inequality was a social norm – but four decades on have times changed?
Organisers hope that by collating the images they can contrast the experiences of women today compared to the past.
The forty best images will then be shown at a public exhibition at the Jubilee Library in December.
