Seafront exhibition marks Brighton’s contribution to nursing World War One injured
A new open air exhibition marks a special contribution Brighton played part in the Great War.
As “Doctor Brighton”, thousands of wounded soldiers were sent to recover in healthy ‘Sussex by the Sea’ before being sent back to their regiments or discharged into civilian life.
Thanks to European funding, Brighton and Hove city Council’s museums team has created an exhibition on the city’s prom marking the role the town played.
