The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
Brighton was an apt starting point for Kip Berman’s indie darlings’ second tour of the year, as local lass Jessica Weiss of Fear Of Men has joined as their live keyboard player and vocalist. Focusing on new album ‘Days Of Abandon’, Berman began solo with the opening track before the band joined for an electric ‘Until The Sun Explodes’. The reverb-drenched vocals, dreamy harmonies and chugging guitars, along with the leader’s charming banter, proved a great template that the sweaty crowd lapped up. The remaining three band members also played a well-received, high-octane support set as Ablebody.
