Pissed Jeans + EXES
Pennsylvania natives Pissed Jeans’ return to the UK was a vital shot of pure ramshackle rock ‘n’ roll joy. Sub Pop-signed, the sludgy crawl of labelmates Mudhoney and intense noise-rockers The Locust could be heard as the punk-influenced grunge-types shook the foundations of a packed venue. A euphoric blast of post-hardcore from the talented EXES in support was a tasty starter, though a crowd-surfing, boisterous response showed the night always belonged to the headliners. With effortlessly charming stage banter, chaotic playing and an infectious energy, it was clear the band was having just as much fun as this lucky audience.
